Top 9 Leadership Trends for 2024

  1. Return to the Office - the pendulum is swinging back.

  2. Continued removal of hierarchy and move towards collaborative team based approach.

  3. Free Agency at all time high- must hire and develop self disciplined and self motivated team members.

  4. Purpose Anxiety- the abundance of options is stifling - must help young leaders discover their why for direction in life.

  5. Content is a commodity, so cohorts, gatherings, and learning journeys that provide conversation, connection and an experience are more crucial than ever.

  6. Small is the new big, and leadership and influence must be personal and customized. Create access whenever possible.

  7. The curator is in. We need curators to filter through all of the noise and provide aggregated wisdom and perspective.

  8. Coach compared to boss. Mentor instead of manage. Relational and social intelligence is required, and empathy is essential. You must empower and release your team.

  9. Must provide basic training for young leaders. In basic areas like conversations, conflict management, email etiquette, teamwork, showing up on time, project management, and more. Develop and coach them with additional “semesters” of learning and training.

You can also find additional interviews with Patrick Lencioni, Bob Goff, Adam Grant, Charles Duhigg, Andy Stanley, Coach PJ Fleck, Louie Giglio, Christine Caine, Kevin Kelly, NT Wright, Rick Warren, Michael Jr, Jon Gordon, Jessica Jackley, John Mark Comer, Scott Harrison, Lysa Terkeurst, and many more.
